After experimenting with leather in travel bags, camping chairs, and other utilitarian objects, this first exploration is conceived and contained within a familiar materiality.
The ideation of the sculptural form (the breasts) arises from the need to provoke controversy and conversation around the project. This approach—one of subversive anatomy—demands technical inventiveness, which is why it proposes a repurposing of usual artisanal skills (quilting) to produce unusual forms (the breasts), thus enabling local production.
Deliberately, with the purpose of heightening the sense of volume, reflective materials are chosen.
